We are a small volume producer of high-quality furniture and homewares, suited to small or large spaces, and the lifestyle expectations of the modern home and apartment. Using a combination of exceptional design and craftsmanship we create beautiful freestanding and fitted furniture designed from bespoke custom design to our range of stunning furniture pieces. We specialise in media units, dining tables, home office furniture, occasional furniture, buffets, and hallway/entrance furniture. We create functional designer furniture built for the rigours of everyday living.

Master Craftsman

Colin Whitehead is a qualified furniture maker and interior designer. He is the creative force behind his company Special Things Furniture, which has specialised in creating quality custom made furniture for almost three decades now.

His exceptional abilities have seen him win several accolades for being the most outstanding in his trade of chair and couch making and also craftsmanship. His furniture items have also won several prestigious awards.

Colin’s mission is to elevate our awareness of design innovation for the living environment and thereby enhancing our lifestyle. He is committed to creating furniture which people will cherish for a lifetime.

Our Design & Creation Process

Meet & Discuss

Based in Melbourne, we will come to you. We will discuss your requirements in order to fully understand your project. We will also make suggestions based on our experience and past projects.

Concept & Costs

We will formally provide our design solutions, finishes and pricing options for comment, review and approval.

Design & Build

We will finalise the design ready for our craftsment to start work on your unique piece of furniture.

Complete & Install

After your piece has been completed it will be quality checked to ensure its just right. We will then arrange delivery and installation into your home or office.
